Shee was working in a smoothie shop,
she was writing for the local zines.

She said “buddy, I ain’t ever seen ya
but there’s a party at the Cantab
if you want to come with me.”

All the zen dads of Cambridge
And the acid aunts of Somerville
They were singing hail, hail bohemia,
What the hell

I had a band with my oldest friend,
We used to practice at the Sound Museum.
I told him Tommy there’s this girl called Janey,
She can really play the tambourine.
We were drinking at the Plough and Stars
Every night, we were talking about the dream.
When we get it together, be the best that they ever seen.

Well the drunks and the dreamers
And the choirboys out in the street
They were singing hail, hail bohemia
What the hell

We were sleeping in the parking lots up and down route 95
Every town has a two for one diner, every town has a local dive
We were playing for a couple of kids, they were happy just to be alive
